The Agency of Education (AOE) and the Agency of Human Services (AHS) will meet to discuss school-based mental health and substance abuse services.
As required in Section 6 of Act 68 of 2013 (S.4) – School-based Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services – Secretary Vilaseca will host a meeting on Monday, August 12, 2013 from 9am – 10am in the Vermont Agency of Education’s Secretary’s Office, 4th Floor, 120 State Street, Montpelier, VT 05620-2501. This meeting will include staff from both AHS and AOE.
Section 6 of Act 68 of 2013 (S.4) requires the Secretary of AHS and Secretary of Education to inventory services in place, identify needs, establish best practices and detail costs and sources of funding to ensure that ensure that clinically appropriate and sufficient school-based mental health and substance abuse services. The work of the two Secretaries will be presented to the specified legislative committees by January 15, 2014.
